Hello, Friend. Welcome to MAKE ROOM! 

Thank you for taking time out of your busy life to read this blog. Years ago, the Lord planted the idea to write in my heart, but it has been a dormant seed until recently when He told me to delay no longer. Despite having known the Lord since childhood, I’ve experienced Him in a profound, new way in the last year, and I feel compelled to share with you what He has been teaching me.

This revived journey began on a cold, December morning. I was feeling particularly burdened by the number of people in and around my life who were lost. Some of the lost people I’m referring to don’t claim to know Jesus, but most of them do. They attend church, serve there and participate in Bible studies. They are seemingly doing all of the “right things,” but the way they spoke about Jesus and their relationship with God demonstrated that they don’t know Him. Many strive to earn faith otherwise feeling unworthy. Some participate for the benefit of their children but aren’t bought in personally. With good intentions, they choose to be around the Fountain. They have accepted His existence and even that He’s good for them, but they haven’t danced in the overflowing Living Water the Fountain has to offer. They have not experienced a deep transformation in His Presence. 

Please don’t hear my analysis of the situation as judgment. I personally know this existence because I spent years there. I’m sorrowful but freed from the fact that there were years that I was a genuine follower of Jesus without dancing in the Fountain. Honestly, until recently, I didn’t fully realize what is available to us as children of the Living God. At salvation, I became His child, and He introduced me to His love. I splashed in it. I was grateful for it, but over time, I took it for granted. The water of the Fountain is refreshing and encouraging, but it doesn’t penetrate to your core until you experience Him in a powerful way, allowing the Holy Spirit to change you.

He is the Fountain and the Fountain is love. One-on-one encounters with the Holy Spirit is how His love begins to transform. Before, an occasional visit was sufficient. Now, you soak in it and long for it every moment of the day. As you press deeper into the Presence of God, you understand the urgency of your responsibility to carry the Water to others. You do whatever God lays on your heart to splash others with His love. You spend your days desperate for those around you to get into the Fountain so that they too can know God more profoundly! Friend, please hear me: simply being acquainted with Him is not His plan for you! It is incomplete. He wants you rejoicing in His acceptance, affection and approval. Not merely scraping by, taking sips of His Word and trying to squeeze Him into your plans. We must MAKE ROOM for Him!

The details of what happened on that December day are a story for another time, but the Holy Spirit fell like fire while I was alone with Him in the secret place. I had never before experienced God that way. In the presence of our Holy, Most High God, while glorifying the Precious Lamb, the power of the Holy Spirit changed me. He took my burden and exchanged it for joy. In a moment, what I had long understood to be a glass of water became a boundless ocean in which I am invited to swim. And you are too… There is an ocean of God available to us. Set down the glass that has served as shallow satisfaction and trade it for an incredible journey deep into the ocean of our beautiful, three-in-one God.

MAKE ROOM for Him. He is the treasure. He is the prize.
